Jana Bressem, study of linguistics, north American studies, media and communication studies at the Free University of Berlin, 2006 Magister Artium. Master Thesis Formen redebegleitender Gesten: Verteilung und Kombinatorik formbezogener Parameter. Since 2001 member of the FU Gesture Project. Since July 2006 research assistant in the VW project Towards a grammar of gesture: evolution, brain, and linguistic structures at the European University Viadrina (Frankfurt/ Oder).

Research interests in form-based analyses of co speech gestures, interaction of gesture and speech, semiotics of gesture, conversation and interaction analysis.

Dissertation project: Repetitions in gesture and speech – phonological and morphological processes. (prelimary title)
