Sebastian Tempelmann:

Studium der Biologie an der Universität Bochum und an der Universität Leipzig, 2007 Diplom. Seine Diplomarbeit „Do dogs (canis familiaris) understand referential acts? – The ability of dogs to learn words and to use iconic cues“ führte er am Max Planck Institut für evolutionäre Anthropologie unter der Betreuung von Prof. Michael Tomasello und Prof. Dr. Svante Pääbo durch.

2004-2007 studentische Hilfskraft in der Abteilung Vergleichende und Entwicklungspsychologie am Max Planck Institut für evolutionäre Anthropologie in Leipzig.

Seit 2007 eingeschrieben an der Universität Portsmouth, arbeitet als Doktorand im Projekt „Towards a Grammar of Gesture: evolution, brain, and linguistic structures“ (Teilprojekt Primatologie). Hauptforschungsinteresse in diesem Projekt: Simultane und lineare Strukturen in Menschen und Menschenaffen.

Generelle Forschungsinteressen: Spracherwerb, Sprachevolution, Kategorien, referentielles Verhalten, Kommunikation.
